Where we are free to talk about the hard, the fun, and the beautiful of our work week.
Ahhhh, my cold has subsided and I can function again. What a relief to be healthy again. It’s funny how quickly we adapt to situations and forget the beauty in being healthy.
I can exercise again. I miss it so much. All my stress builds up without some good cardio, strength training, and stretching (AKA Yoga).
When we don’t have something that we once had (and enjoyed), it’s so easy to see the beauty that we don’t hold any longer. We need to remind ourselves of what life was like when we were feeling bad. Help us put our working lives into perspective every now and again.
Alright. It’s time.
Hard
A good opportunity missed.
I cold called a local organization to see if they need a speaker. They are fairly large and have two conferences each year.
The man on the other end of the phone had a monthly meeting coming up where he would propose new speakers. He was interested in me coming to talk to his group. This could lead to bigger opportunities.
I waited.
No call.
I called back.
Voice mail.
Arrrrgh!
Fun
Putting the finishing touches on my teleseminar.
I’m getting excited because I have so many good things happening in 2010. A book, crazy good teleseminar, and another project that I’m looking to launch in the Fall, but I’m not quite ready to talk about it.
The teleseminar is fun because I’m tweaking and adding to my material to create a great experience. I’ve never had this much fun editing. If you want to learn more then check out the page – How to Kick Butt at Work and Be Happy Too.
Beautiful
I wrote a post about having a favorite pen and it’s funny how it keeps coming back to me. I’ve discovered another favorite pen, that makes four.
I love using these pens because I know that some cool thought will be put down on to paper with these pens that will change the course of my business. By putting my faith in these objects I’m creating great creative Karma.
It’s a win, win, win. What is more beautiful than that?
What about you?

Hi Karl
Great to hear you are feeling better again!
HARD: Coming back from vacation to the cold, and gloomy weather back home...
FUN: The vacation I just had was so much fun, spending time in the sun and sand is fun to me by just being there.
BEAUTIFUL: The tropical plants that I had a chance to see where breath taking. I just love exploring the beautiful natural world of other ecosystems.
Have a great weekend!
I'm glad you're feeling better, Karl! That's very good news.
For me, the week shook out like this:
Hard --- quieting my monkey mind when it's gotten riled up over things I ordinarily know are unfolding perfectly. I feel like a referee sometimes with this head of mine (rather than a coach).
Fun --- getting together with so many great people all week. It started on Monday, and just kept right on going. I love great people, and I feel blessed to know so many!
Beautiful --- being outside yesterday in 40-degree temperatures, smelling the air (which was reminiscent of spring b/c the snow was melting), and listening to birds fly around and sing in the trees.
Hi Evita, Going back to the cold weather is hard. I'm glad I live in Austin. I love the beach. Relaxes the soul.
Hi Megan, Arrrgh monkey mind. It's funny how our minds have their ups and downs too. I love good people too. You have convinced me to send out a thank you to the universe for all the wonderful people in my life.
Hard :: I started freelancing a few months ago and I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing half of the time. I hadn't realized how reassuring organizational structures can be!
Fun :: I just moved in a spacious, luminous loft and I am painting, decorating, etc. Loving it!
Beautiful :: Admiring the very wow view of the city from the large window when I look up from my computer...
Hard: Feeling like there is a lot to do in a little amount of time
Fun: Making "potions" with my kids and pretending like we were wizards.
Beautiful: the snow on the trees where I went skiing. So beautiful and made me marvel at life, snow, and being free.
It's like re-uniting with an old friend, and I'm glad you can exercise again, and your cold's behind you.
